Eliminate The Germs: Discover How To Keep Your Smartphone Clean

If you've recently purchased a smartphone, there are certain things you should do on a regular basis to keep it clean. It's easy for these kinds of phones to get dirty. Unfortunately, if you're not taking the proper steps to keep your phone clean, it could carry thousands of germs. If there are a lot of germs on the phone, you could end up getting sick more often. You might even experience major acne breakouts on your face from holding a germy phone against your skin. Most people don't realize just how filthy these phones can become, but there are several things you can do to eliminate most of the germs.

Get a Phone Screen Protector

The phone screen protector is worth the investment because it keeps the original phone screen protected from germs as well as damage. It's easy to accidentally scratch up the glass screen of a smartphone. Simply dropping the phone by accident once could cause a number of scratches to appear on the front of it. However, you could prevent that by simply placing a phone screen protector on your phone.

There are several different types of phone screen protectors on the market. Some of these protectors are made of a plastic material while others are made of tempered glass. The tempered glass options provide the best protection against the screen and are fairly easy to clean. You can wipe the screen protector down with a cloth regularly or even replace it when it starts getting too dirty.

Disinfect Your Phone Without Causing Any Damage

One of the reasons people may not clean their phones as often as they should is because they don't want to use harsh chemicals on their electronic devices. Using the wrong chemicals could easily cause the phone to stop working properly. However, there is an easy way to disinfect the phone without causing any damage to it at all.

Mix equal parts of rubbing alcohol and some cold water into a container with a spray nozzle. Spray the front and back of your phone with the solution and then wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. Make sure the cloth you're using is completely clean. Make it a habit of using the rubbing alcohol cleanser on a daily basis to keep your phone clear of as many germs as possible. Even though it might seem like extra work, it's a simple task that should only take a minute or two for you to complete.

Wash Your Phone Case at Least Once a Week

The phone case that you use may be designed to protect your phone from damage, but it's not any less susceptible to germs. If your phone has thousands of germs on it, you can bet that the case is covered in germs, too. Giving your case a thorough cleansing at least once a week can make all the difference for you.

Start by removing your phone case from your phone. Fill a small basin up with hot water and a tablespoon of dish detergent. Wait for the water to get soapy before placing your phone case directly into the water. Let the case soak in the soapy water for at least 15 minutes before pulling it out and wiping it down with a microfiber cloth. If you see any additional spots of dirt that are left on the phone case, grab a cotton swab, dip it into rubbing alcohol, and carefully wipe away the dirt.

Keep your phone clean and protected. Make sure you're using a screen protector that you can easily take off, wipe down, or even replace after a certain amount of time. You should try to disinfect your phone on a daily basis to eliminate most of the germs while cleaning the case on a weekly basis to remove dirt and germs. These maintenance tips will keep your phone in better condition while protecting you from a number of germs that could get you sick or cause acne to appear on your face.
